When did the band form?
November 20, 1999
Where was the band's first show?
There are two ways to answer this. Our first show playing
together was at our high school's talent show in May of 2000 under the name Slave I.
Our first show as Divinity Destroyed was at
The Cove in Roselle, NJ on August 23, 2000.
What does NVNDK stand for?
Nothing. It's just a neat way of writing "envy and decay".
Will you play at my birthday party/backyard BBQ?
As much as we would like to be able to eat free cake, we
try not to get involved in those situations unless it's a show
where there are more bands and it's open to the public. As
much as we don't like it to come to this, we usually only consider
private events if the price is right.
Can you check out my friends band's profile on Myspace?
Sure.
Do you have guitar tabs/sheet music on website?
That is something that we plan on doing. Until then, cetain songs are available upon request. Email us.
Do you have free downloads of your songs on your website?
No. Although we don't have anything against minimal song
sharing, we do believe that artists should be compensated for their
work. This leads to our next question..
Where can I download your songs?
iTunes.
You guys ever try getting signed to a label?
That has been our goal since we started. We're under the
impression nowadays that labels look for their artists instead of
artists sending them demos. Hopefully, they will find us.
When is a new album coming out?
We would love to come out with them all the time but we
always say to ourselves, "it either has to be as good or better
than our last release" which usually means it's going to take more money.
Ideally we'd like an outside source to have enough faith in the
band to assist in funding our next full length album.
What happened to the past band members?
Without getting too personal, some of them had substance
problems or other obligations to deal with or we didn't have a stable
working relationship with them. We always try to keep everything in
the best interest of the band. It's never a good situation when
members leave but sometimes leaving is in the best interest of both
parties.
Can my band open for you?
Most of the time that call is up to the promoter or
venue. We rarely have control over that sort of thing. Besides, why would
you want to open for a bunch of queefs like us anyway?
Will you play (insert favorite song) at the next show?
We usually have a solid set list for our shows that we
work out in advance. But hey, your favorite might already be a part
of it.
Is the name "Divinity Destroyed" anti-Christian?
The name wasn't originally conceived to be anti-anything. But as with any artistic creation, you're welcome
to interpret it however you like. Just keep us out of it.
Are you a Christian band?
We all have our own individual beliefs, none of which directly influence the group as a whole. We worship Kratos.
Where is Divinity Destroyed based out of?
Ocean County, NJ
